Curriculum Overview
At SGS, our curriculum is rooted in joy, curiosity, and a deep respect for each student’s voice and identity. Through an interdisciplinary, anti-bias approach, students engage in meaningful inquiry, connect ideas across subjects, and explore real-world questions that matter to them and their communities. Throughout the year, each grade level participates in —public showcases where students present their original, multidisciplinary work. These events highlight both academic growth and the development of essential skills like critical thinking, collaboration, and creative problem-solving.
In addition to year-round academic work and Culminations, students also participate in —a special two-week learning block in December designed to foster community, creativity, and connection. During Intensives, students dive into hands-on projects that build on their grade-level themes (see below) while also working across grades to strengthen communication, collaboration, and inclusion.
Through this dynamic, student-centered approach, graduates leave our program confident, capable, and well prepared to thrive in high school—and to make meaningful contributions beyond it.
